This project turned out better than I expected! With every project I created 2D & 3D drawings so the client can visualize what the end result will look like. So of course I’ve had in my head all along what I envisioned but having your creation come to life is a whole different feeling! When I explained to Safaye (my co-op student) what I was thinking for styling for this project, she knew exactly what I was thinking. My style is more of a ‘lived in’ feel. Meaning I like the room to look new but the fixtures & decor that make up the remaining part of the space to have a vintage or antique twist to them. With this project I selected oil rubbed bronze fixtures instead of a matte black. The reasoning behind this is because oil rubbed bronze is in the kitchen and some other areas of the home. I was able to play off the other areas to make a great transition to this updated bathroom. For the tile I selected a light grey/white 12x24 for the floor and the same pattern but in a Chevron tile for the walls. This allowed to pull the white for the new baseboard & trim but also pull the grey from the custom white oak vanity & hook board. When styling I felt like I needed some more light wood type action by the tub so we sourced an antique stool to continue the look throughout the whole room. With all these items combined made me realize that the one thing I know that goes well with all of these elements is antique gold photo frames ! This project was a real vision for me and I’m so excited to me able to allow you all to see what I was able to create!
