First Step in the Process
Happy Saturday!!
It’s been a crazy last couple weeks at LM Interiors and I thought I would share a few updates regarding the reno.
Andrew and I attended our township meeting to see if we would get approved for our minor variance. While we were at the meeting we discovered that if there were 2 more houses on our street that were over the property line then the meeting we were at wouldn’t have even been happening. Aka, majority rules but unfortunately we were not in the majority due to these 2 other houses not built over the property line. However, we were granted our minor variance which means we will be approved for our building permit unless any of our neighbours have issues which they then have up until April 24 to speak their reasonings. They were already given notice 10 days in advance of our meeting and nothing was said nor was anyone in attendance at the meeting to complain. We know our neighbours very well so we are very thankful for them.
With that being said, we are able to demo parts of the house and dig where the foundation and new septic are going until we receive our permits but we are not allowed to pour foundation until the 25th of April. Which means, this weekend we will be removing the 2 chimney stacks on the house (1 chimney goes to the fireplace in the basement and we believe the second stack belonged to an old fireplace on the main floor which is no longer in the house). We will also be removing all the garden stones which currently act as a remaining wall, removing the dead tree in our front yard and removing the clothes line in the backyard!
Most nights I spend packing and purging through items we no longer need. We have gathered quite the pile of garage sale items which will be taking place in Linwood on May 27. There will also be a community wide garage sale that day so bring your walking shoes 😉 Address will be posted on my Instagtam stories the night before!
